how to subtly flirt in an email with i guy you might like, without looking like a stupid girl.?

ok, so there is a guy i met at soccer training camp who ive been contacting by email. We email back and forth 2-4 times a week, but just friendly, sports being the presiding theme. how do i just flirt with him subtly to move it along a bit?
he's really smart, and observant, so i dont want to come off pushy and stupid sounding. thanks. oh and whats a good time frame for waiting in between emails? have an amazing day!
