Is it too late for me to learn how to play soccer?
I'm a 14 year old girl. I love to watch soccer and I really wanna learn how to play. Next week I start my freshman year in high school, and there is a soccer team.. But i've never really learned how to play besides in gym class. And I loved it. So, i probably wont make the team.. Is it too late to learn and or go to a soccer camp for beginners?

1. It is NOT too late for you to play soccer. It's never too late. If you really love something and put your heart into it and work hard, you can do it. You may not make the team, but you may. Why not ask the coach to keep you on the roster, and you'll promise to work hard during practice and outside of practice to improve yourself. Tell the coach you discovered the game late but you'll do what it takes to improve throughout the season. If you can find a camp for beginners, you can do that too.
Moral is: It's NEVER too late
2. Soccer is different than most sports, is not about how you endure your Physique, or how you learn some moves and repeat it untill you perfect them.
Its about Choices, strategy and diversity. So, as long as you have a good physical condition, which since you are 14, is a given, youll be able to get into the sport. Go for it, for the most beatiful of sports.
3. I didn't know anything about soccer till I was 17( yay for being american).
Now I'm the best on my soccer team and my coach says that I have a chance of going pro in the next 4 years. All you need to do is practice 1 hr a day juggling dribblin and shooting and jug+exercise for one hour and your going to be a decent player.
4. I'm a Sophomore in high school and I've been playing soccer since kindergarten. There are plenty of freshman and older girls as well that are just learning how to play. The reality is though that those girls definitely started too late to be on our schools varsity ever. I'm sure though that with some hard work you can make your school's JV team or freshman team if you have one. I would recommend getting in very good shape and get a soccer ball and take it everywhere you go leaving it at your feet. It takes many years to develop skills required for soccer but the most important thing is that you are comfortable with the soccer ball itself. Juggling is something that you can practice all the time and try to be able to get 20 every time using your thighs and your feet. Though this will take time it is a great way for a beginner to ready themselves to learn the game of soccer. Don't get discouraged just keep at it!
