How do I prepare for middle school girl soccer tryouts?
I just started playing soccer and I'm going to soccer camp in august, also I'm joining a rec team in the fall. I'm planning to join my schools soccer team but I'm having doubts, because many of girls in my school say its hard to make the soccer team

1. don't think down think up. If you don't make it its ok u should practice ball control, touches on the ball, running, one touch, trapping out of the air, passing, and depending what position you play practice shooting for striker, containing the play for defense, pass and move also through balls to the strikers. Good luck!!!!!!!!
2. First of all, do a lot of running and sprints to get your body fit. Soccer is a sport that requires a lot of running. I recommend to run with the ball often because it helps you learn to control the ball more. Being conditioned will help you focus on your technique and not focus on how much you are out of breath and sore you are in try-outs.
The camp you are gonna go to will probably help you out a lot. Just keep your head up and concentrate on being a better player. Make sure on try-out days you are eating healthy and drinking ALOT of water. You will do just fine ;)
Good Luck!
3. You need to work on the key components of soccer. These are just the basics. Heading, trapping, passing, shooting, and dribbling(moves).
Figure out which position you want to play and use that area to practice the components. For example, if you want to play defense, I would suggest working on heading the ball higher and with power (in a game this would be clearing the ball). You can also rent soccer DVDs. Anson Dorrance is a very good soccer mentor. You can also read soccer books. GOOD LUCK AND ENJOY THE GAME!!!
