How does a ball pump work? A pump being what you use to inflate a ball(soccer ball, football, ect.) Ok, so how does the pump put air into the ball with out sucking it right back out when you go to pump it again?
How to work on ball control and shooting? So soccer season is approaching, and I would like to know any single person drills to improove my ball handling and shooting. And any thing to work on my control with the ball, thanks, login
Kicking a Soccer Ball? I have played soccer for a while, but my kicking technique was wrong, so I decided to change it. I've been trying to kick the ball straight on the laces of my boot, but it doesn't seem to work. The ball continuously comes off really weak and with a low trajectory. I can't try and kick it any higher on my boot because I'll end up hitting the ground with my toes and breaking my ankle. I'm at a complete loss so any help would be dearly appreciated.
Why is juggling a soccer ball so hard for me? I can only do 12 max at 17 years old. The ball just either spins back at me real fast or goes farther away from me. I tried all the guides on youtube none preety much work. I have trouble hitting the ball with my laces. The ball keeps spinning back towards me. So fast that I lose control.

How to get a bunch of 9yr old boys motivated? I'm doing soccer training every afternoon and none of the kids listen, i don't want to threaten them too much though, some ways to get them motivated WITHOUT putting them down would be great. Also i have some drills which (i think) are fun or at least not boring but more drills that would grab their attention and make them listen more would be great! P.S i have 4 poles, and a large number of cones and around 12 soccer balls to work with
Hit in Adam's apple with soccer ball? So, I was at soccer practice and our coach decided that we needed to practice trapping the ball. We worked with our feet, thighs, stomachs, then chests. I am 5'4'' and 17 years old, so I'm pretty tiny, and as you can imagine, I am horrible at chesting a ball effectively because I have such a narrow chest area. My partner threw the soccer ball up so that I could attempt to chest trap it, and I miscalculated the position of the ball and it ended up hitting my chest and neck (right below the Adam's apple area). That was last Tuesday and it is now Saturday. My neck aches a little bit but it feels as though my trachea hurts. I've read horror stories about getting hit in the neck and I'm experiencing similar pains (sometimes when I breathe but more so when I change position, such as from lying down to sitting up). Breathing doesn't hurt horribly but it has definitely changed since the impact. I plan on getting this checked out but should I be worried?
What impulse was delivered to the soccer ball by the player? A 0.40kg soccer ball approaches a player horizontally with a velocity of 16m/s to the north. The player strikes the ball and causes it to move in the opposite direction with a velocity of 22m/s. What impulse was delivered by the player? Please show work.
Where can I buy a soccer ball with the logo of the Mexican team Pachuca? I work at a school and a boy is doing very bad because he doesn't know much english. SOCCER: How do I work on my turning? How do i work on turning upon receiving the ball? lately i've gotten bad at this technique of the game. i am a junior in high school. i play at the elite level, but lately i've had trouble with my field vision. How to Juggle A Soccer ball Better? Hi, I want to get better at juggling. I have gotten in the 100s before, but that was with luck. I can usually get in the 50-70s fairly easy, but for some reason I can't get too much higher easily... Any reasons for this, and any idea on how I can get in the 100s to the 1000s easily? Any tips on how to possibly do juggling more effieciently, like energy saving or things to work on to improve juggling? OK, thanks in Advance.
How do i improve my speed in running with the ball and turning in soccer? I know that I need to practice but any advice on drills or anything i can do to improve my speed in running with the ball in soccer and turning? I took the FA Soccer Stars test and those were the areas i needed to work on....has anyone else taken this test? If so what were your results out of the 6 stars? Any advice on training before I have to take the test again in about a month and a half?
How can I increase shooting power in soccer-futsal? I can work with the ball pretty well, and find space to shoot but I usually lack shooting power, although I'm 97 kilos 'thin' and 180 cm tall. I don't walk much because I go to work by car. I play indoor soccer (futsal) an hour a week.
A Lab proof ball? Does anyone know of a ball that will not deflate under the pressure of a Lab? Eli LOVES playing with balls. I've bought volleyballs, soccer balls, etc. He likes for them to bounce, so, softballs won't work. Tennis balls get shredded. We have one glow in the dak rubber ball that has lasted a long time, but, it doesn't bounce. Help? Rephrase - a ball to play with outside...with me throwing it....I'd be the toy dispenser. Do the Kong balls bounce? Nope, he only has the classic Kong. Haven't tried to ball yet.
I have trouble kicking a soccer ball. I get hurt when I try (my foot/shin/knee)? I play soccer for my high schools team. Im the JV team, and I know I could play varsity if I could just kick the ball better. I can kick it like 20-30 yards, but it only leaves the ground like a foot or two, and I hurt my foot every time (I'm right footed). I used to use my toe when I first started two years ago, but obviously your not supposed to do that.I ve tried using my laces, side of my foot, side of my toe, and nothing works, PLUS it still will bend my foot backwards or something. The pain is on the top of my foot, like where that bone you can feel runs from your big toe to your ankle. I'm not sure if this will help, but I have great ball handling skills, its just my long pass/shooting/field-crossing. I play forward and center-mid (inside and out). Can someone PLEASE help me with this? Thanks alot.
Does the product 'Super Kick' for soccer really work? http://www.mysuperkick.com/home.htm I was wondering if this really helps. I need help with punting, and it would help if I could learn to kick a ball too :] so does anyone know anything about this? Does it work? Where can I buy it? Thanks! Any other tips are very welcome.

Playing lower division amateur soccer in England or France. How do you get the ball rolling with that? My girlfriend and may be moving to England or France next year. While we are there we will just be living and working. We are both 18. I play soccer though. I have played P1 for the last two years in Washington State for a club called Crossfire. We took second in state. I was just wondering, what the competition is like for keepers there? Also, who would I talk too to possibly play on a lower division amateur team, so I may be able to work my way up?
how do you do an around the world with a soccer ball? i need a little help, i can do a lot of tricks and i have been working on this one and just cant get it down i can do a rainbow, a maradonna, i can hold the ball on my foot for 3 min., i can juggle to 55, lots of stuff.
how to put map of the world around a soccer ball using illustrator? i'm using illustrator to try and create a globe except that the globe is a soccer ball with the continents revolving on that. I found tutorials on how to make a globe by drawing a half circle and using map art to revolve a map symbol around it, but I want the land to rotate around a soccer ball i already drew. it's like a globe and soccer ball in one where you can see the soccer ball through the ocean parts. i can't cut the ball in half because of the pattern/design so i tried to work with doing the same steps on the soccer ball as a whole, but it went all weird and flattened. Then i tried to work with a circle that has no filling, hoping i could just lay it on top of the soccer ball to appear like the land was on the soccer ball when actually it was on an invisible ball, but then it fills in the space with black filling so then it looks like a black globe. what do I do?!?! please be as detailed as possible if you know the steps. thanks. after i make it and just say them on top of each other to how i would want it, then what? i can't click on anything individually on the globe itself. can you elaborate on how to "expand the appearance" so that I can use the direct selection tool to delete the oceans of the globe? it's hard for me to process the info if i can't see you do it visually...
How to treat and prevent blisters on the ball of the foot when playing soccer I play soccer obviously but the point is I have a problem with blisters on my feet, at least thats what I am going to refer to them as. I have read quite a few tips and what not, but I was hoping for some first hand experience and for people to qualify what does work and dismiss what doesn't. I have taken a few steps so far, I just purchased new cleats and I have doubled up on socks at the moment. As for my situation in particular, I am a somewhat overweight so I think that is what is making my blisters particularly nasty and hard hitting. Keeping in mind that while cleats are used for good traction and allowing players to change direction abruptly, this may be working against me, but then again many a player bigger then I have played the same or similar sports so... My blisters only, at least so far, affect the ball of my foot (under my big toe), and one time several layers of skin ripped off entirely from the ball of my foot. I have been thinking about taping and wasn't sure if that would be the best route. If you do suggest it, what kind of tape should I use, and how do I apply it? Any other product or rigs to prevent blisters would be greatly appreciated and even more so if you can tell me where to find the items.
What can I do to prepare for Soccer Tryouts? The tryouts begin next Monday. I have been conditioning, and getting some touches on the ball, and working in my new cleats... any other suggestions? Any specific exercises to give a boost in these next few days? Any drills to improve my touches and get my feel back really quick? I mean, we've had some practices, and then like 3 weeks off, and now tryouts.. any ways that I can regain some of that fitness and skill really quick? I've gotten a little sloppy with my footwork, hahaha.. THANKS!
does anyone know how to do soccer tricks? like how to do a rainbow? i just got into soccer and when i play with other people in my school, they always juke me out. i want to learn how to do effective tricks so i can get better. i have tried to do a rainbow...and it works sometimes...the ball usually goes backwards though...and it takes me a while to get it over my head again. i also know that there are two ways of doing rainbow...and i only know how to do the one where you step over the ball, pull it up your leg, and then kick back, making the ball go over your head. if possible, i would like to learn both ways.
Key surfaces for juggling with a soccer ball? I'm in my off-season for soccer and am trying to work juggling. I remember my coach saying to be sure to practice w/ all 14 surfaces but I can only remember 12. We're just a girls high school team, not that great, so I don't think it would be anything too impossible. So far I have: 1. Left thigh 2. Right thigh 3. Left laces 4. Right laces 5. Left inside of shoe 6. Right inside of shoe 7. Left outside of shoe 8. Right outside of shoe 9. Left shoulder 10. Right shoulder 11. Chest 12. Head The only other surface I could think of was L/R heels, but I could've sworn the coach didn't mention those. Anyone know of any other surfaces? thanks.
Is it too late for to be able to play college soccer? Hi, I am sixteen (5'5 1/2127~lbs if it matters lol) and have always followed soccer but never was motivated enough to play it. Im currently a sophomore in highschool and the season has already started so I can't try out. And even if I didn't miss the tryouts I wouldn't make it anyways. I started running and whatnot but I would like to know if by next year With daily practice and determination I could make my HS team as a striker? Also what would I need to work on and HOW to work on it on my own? Not only just what i need to develop but HOW? lol And another thing is junior year too late to keep working at soccer and try to be recruited? I know there is kids that have played for years but I believe that with enough hardwork and dedication I can play. And anyone in the Massachussets area know of any recreational (boy and girl) teams I could play on to get a feel for the game. Will award points to best answer consisting of answers to my questions and a 6 day a week plan to help me get better. Keep in mind I will be doing this on my own or sometimes w. a friend & only have access to the local ymca, a middleschool soccer field, and a soccer ball and my kit. Thanks in advance and God bless
Are skills soccer balls a good buy? I am a middle school student who is looking to brush up on his soccer skills. I am thinking about working with a hacky sack and a skills ball. Amy thoughts?
Youth Soccer Coach Looking for Discount Bulk Deals on Balls? Hi, I am going into my third year as a girls youth soccer coach and am slowly building my coaching resource kit. And, I recently got my first coaching license and am looking to broaden the age groups that I work with. I have learned I can get more done and keep the practices flowing better if I have more soccer balls at hand. So, does anyone know of any organizations or stores that have great bulk soccer ball package deals? Thanks!
When do you dribble a soccer ball and when do you pass? Hi, ive got a problem and i need some proffesional advice. Iam currently playing for a soccer team and i play as striker. My problem is im not sure when to dribble and when to pass. Even though i have this temptaion to dribble all and score its not doing any good for my team. And another thing is, to be specific, im a good dribbler but ive got a problem with my teamates cause i kinda fear they might get pissed off if i dribble individually and then loose it. So all im asking is where am i supposed to dribble and when am i supposed to pass and also is it okay if a soccer player dribbles and works indvidually but looses it at the end, is that something i can try?

Soccer lovers help me out here! thanks a lot!
Soccer Ball Cake? I'm making a soccer ball cake for childs birthday. On my first attmept cake was done on the outside and still raw in the centre. I'm not used to working with such a big cake pan. is this a good excercise routine? monday, wednesday, friday, and saturday first set - 30 push ups, 40, sit ups, and 10 pull ups. Morning second set - 30 push ups, 40 sit ups, and 10 pull ups. Afternnonish... eveningish (before dinner) third set - 20 push ups, 30 sit ups, and 5 pull ups. Night... (before bed, don't want to get sweaty before bed.. and after shower). and then tuesday, thursday, and sunday.. i work with my feet... like a juggle a soccer ball, like working on my skills, in various sports.... SHould i run? i don't feel like running in the cold.... oh yeah and i do stretches every day... 30 - 60 seconds each stretch excercise...
Is this an alright pre-season workout for soccer? Monday: Long distance run Tuesday: Strength Training and Ball Work Wednesday: Short Run and HIIT Thursday: Strength Training and Ball Work Friday: Long distance run Saturday: Short Run and HIIT Sunday: REST!!!! I didn't put the times for my runs and HIIT sessions, but that's because I'm going to build on them. I'm starting with 30 minutes running and 8 minutes of HIIT, and by the end of my program thing, I'll be able to run for 60 minutes and do 15 minutes of HIIT. I figured that by doing things this way, I'll get in my endurance from the long runs, but the HIIT will prepare me for those moments where you have to take off in a sprint. The strength training supposedly helps your fitness, and well, the ball work- that's going to help alot. So..... do you think I'll be in alright shape by doing this by the time March 1st comes around? Any tips are welcome. Oh, by the way- I forgot to add that I'm going to be playing on my high school girl's soccer team. I'm not in college or anything.
using euler's polyhedronal formula to construct a soccer ball pinata...HELP!? I have tried a lot of sites but they are all restricted to me because I'm not paying $40 for abcteach membership and I'm not a Sigma Xi member, If you have acces to either website please copy and paste for me or you can email me. I need to start with the surface area and work out the sizes of the pentagons and hexagons. I already know the soccer ball is supposed to have 12 pentagons and 20 hexagons. Iposted a question earlier about this and all I came back with was a knitting pattern! So please--math-related answers only.
Help me in physics and the work please im desperate and have a test tomrorrow? A crate weighing 474 N rests on a plank that makes a 21 degree angle with the ground. Find the components of the crate's weight force parallel and perpindicular to the plank. What is th horizontal distance traveled by a soccer ball kicked into the air at angle of 26 degrees above the horizontal with initial velocity of 26 m/s? What is the maximum height of a soccer ball kicked into the air at angle of 30 degrees above the horizontal with initial velocity of 25 m/s? A ball falls from rest at a height of 572 m. How long does it remain in the air? If the ball has a horizontal velocity of 50 m/s when it begins to fall, what horizontal displacement will it have?
Is there a formula for making a soccer ball? I'm going to make a pinata and would like to make sure that I have the correct measurements proportionate to a real soccer ball. So if someone out there knows the formula please help. Also please let me know what the abbreviations are for (like circumference, diameter, length, etc) its been awhile since high school, but I'm still pretty good at basic algebra. I would like to be able to start with my own circumference and work out the sizes of the pentagons and hexagons after I have made the actual ball. Thank you. Come on math whizzes give me something to work with here! Kimberly A- I already know that the soccerball is supposed to have 20 hexagons and twelve pentagons. I was looking for a mathematical formula not a Knitting pattern, I am making a PINATA!
Physics problem asking for the initial speed of a soccer ball and time it takes to get past goalkeeper. help!? Consider the problem of kicking a soccer ball past a goalkeeper into a goal. You are 25 m away from the goal and kick the ball at an angle of 30 degrees with respect to the horizontal, and the ball just passes over the goalkeeper's hands. find the initial speed of the ball. Also, calculate how long it takes the ball to get from you to the goal. Hint: you will have to estimate the height of the goalkeeper. It would be great if you could show your work and equations so i can see how to do it. thanks everyone for your time!
What are the best women's cleats? Light, comfortable, and work well with a ball? I'm looking for women's soccer cleats, preferably a specified name of the shoe and the brand versus just the brand. I need a cleat that is light, comfortable, has a good fit, and works well with the ball. I will mostly be working on dry or slightly wet grass. I'm a defender, so I will be putting a lot of force behind the ball- I need a sturdy shoe. My budget is $120. (Sorry, I know it's a small budget for the type of shoe that I need.) Thanks!
is this good to get in shape for soccer? Ok, so i plan to play soccer for my highschool when i am 10th grade. The season starts at the end of 2009/ beginning of 2010. I am trying to find a good routine to do to get in shape(lose weight and tone my muscles). I was thinking this might be a good routine. What are your thoughts? Mon.: - Run for a mile -Do pushups until failure(changing type of pushup every 5 pushups(until i get better at them)) -Rest for 1 min - Situps until failure(changing the type of situp every 10 situps) -Rest for 1 min -Do planks, and left and right side planks w/ 30 sec rest in between - Ball handling for 15-20 min - Finish with a few minutes of jump roping -Rest for 1 min. Tues.: - Work on ball handling skills for about 30 min - Jump rope for a few min. Wed.- Same as Mon. Thurs.: Same as Tues Fri.: - Same as Mon. and Wed. Sat./Sun.- Rest I" am going to increase my run distance by 1/2 a mile each week. Also, Should i run for time instead of distance? I was thinking that if i did distance i could sprint 1/4 of a mile and rest and then repeat until the mile is completed. What do you think is the best cardio plan for me to use to get ready for soccer. I am 6 feet tall, about 200 lbs, and i am 14 years old. Thanks again, plesea chang anything you wish and please suggest things. I also have changed my diet and am drinking a lot of water and staying away from sweets Thanks everyone. Also do you think i should add some squats to work my legs or is running and all that enough? I am going to try to find a summer team and i am going to play at my local park before my highschool's soccer season starts again.
What kind of soccer ball is this? I have seen these soccer balls that have some type of stretch cloth on the outside and black rubber on the inside. They aren't really regulation soccer balls. They don't hurt when you get hit with them and they are really easy to kick far. The work good for indoors because they don't dent things. They are really bouncy too. You could play basketball with them. Extremely light-weight. They come in 2 colors. A main color, and a secondary which only some of the little patches are that color. The first way for me to explain is I think it has the word 'soft' on it.
How do you juggle a soccer ball? I've heard from many people that juggling a ball is lots of help especially if I want to take control of the ball and get more familiar/comfortable with it. Also, I'm only a beginner now, meaning I need to be able to first get friendly with the ball, so I was practicing juggling the ball for days by now, but the problem is, I barely exceed two times. Moreover, I can only do juggling with my thighs, I've tried doing it on the shoelaces part of my feet, but it just doesn't work at all. How am I supposed to juggle, specifically? Can anybody tell me? Oh, and does it really take forever to master this skill, as some people say?
What soccer position do i have a chance at? Im im 14 & 5 7' with lots of leg strength . i have a good change of direction and okay soccer ball control, what position do i have a chance at so i can start working on it for next years high skool varsity tryouts ( the school has no freshman or jv team ) ? BUT because im so old do you think that i can play soccer...i know that most people start when their younger....what do you think...is their a soccer coach out there who wants to help out with this one please i'm a girl....
Which is harder/requires more skill? - Soccer or Football? This might be kind of confusing for anyone outside of the US, since you guys call soccer football. Today I got into an argument with my friend over which was harder, soccer or football. I said soccer, he said football. He kept showing me all these plays that they do, and I kept telling him that thats more proof, since all you do in football is memorize plays, and in soccer, you have to use your head and make split second decisions all the time, and not just do your specific part. He said all you do in soccer is kick the ball around and you can never use your hands. I just said that goalies can use their hands and hands are easier to work with anyway. You dont just kick the ball around, and even that requires way more skill than running up and down the football field. Soccer players need way more endurance, too, since we constantly have to run around, and football players get a break every other minute once a play is complete. What do you guys think??
Speed work with soccer? Hi I want to get faster and I am a Forward. I want to control the ball well and be explosive off the mark. If I could get a routine that I could do 6 days a week that would be appreciated. Thanks
soccer 101 questions? I'm not a soccer guy but am watching the World Cup and have some questions about the rules/strategy. First - why do the goalies kick the ball halfway down the field when they get possession of it? It seems like about 50% of the time the team kicking it down the field loses possession. Why don't teams work the ball down the field (I'm really looking for more of an explanation than it just saves time in advancing the ball, more like what is the strategy. The most important part of the game to me seems to be having possession of the ball, so why do teams so often just give up the possession by kicking the ball halfway down the field where there are tons of players and there is an even chance that the opposition comes away with it) Second - When throwing the ball in from out of bounds, how far can the player run down the field? It seems like they run 40 or more feet down the sidelines sometimes looking for someone to get the ball to. Third - When the ball is kicked out of bounds, does it get tossed in from where it went out or where the kick took place? I am pretty sure that it is where it exits the field of play, but sometimes it seems like they are throwing the ball in from a spot even with where the player was when kicking it out. Thanks!
Adidas claims the Jabulani was tested extensively and made with the best materials, blah blah blah? I mean, does that prove corporations lie like hell or what? The ball is the same sort of scam that is similar to the one American pro leagues pull. In soccer, the balls always change in design in order to boost sales to the public. The NBA tried to pull that with the ball and it didn't work, same with soccer. American pro leagues always keep changing the logo designs too in the interest of boosting sales. I mean, if Cal Tech tested the ball and said it was junk, that doesn't look good for Adidas. They just changed the ball up in the interest of sales and didn't give a damn about its performance. They are such an awful company. I swear their running shoes are designed to break after 6 months. I had three that did so, on schedule.
What good do you think the passion for football can bring about? Do you think this can work? London, July 06 (ANI): A football that generates electricity to charge a cell phone or power a light from a short kick is set for trial at the 2010 FIFA World Cup host South Africa. Four female undergraduate students, from Harvard University, who wanted to find a solution to the developing world's chronic power shortages, designed the ball named sOcckets. The ball works by a 'shake to charge' torch, in which a magnetic ball rolls through a coil to generate an electric charge. The ball generates enough electricity to power an LED light for three hours in just 15 minutes of being kicked around. It can charge virtually any kind of mobile phone. "Soccer is something you will find in every African country," one of sOccket's inventors, Jessica Lin, said."People play for hours days, so we thought, 'Why not try to get a little more out of that energy,'" she added. Lin said that the main motive was to withhold the passion for football particularly among children in Africa's poorest communities to provide them with reading torches when the light fades. "The kids call it 'the magic ball'. Whenever you see a child plug in their ball for the first time and see the torch light up from the energy they've created, their eyes light up too it's a wonderful feeling," The Telegraph quoted Julia as saying. "If you think that the energy generated by a 15-minute kick around provides three hours of light, you can read a lot of pages from a textbook in that time," she added. The sOccket ball may be available online by the end of 2010. The team intends to sell them to people in developed countries in a buy-one-give-one scheme in which the second ball will be sent to charities working in African towns. "But it's a big improvement over some of the makeshift balls the kids create from things like old plastic bags," she added. http://in.news.yahoo.com/139/20100706/862/ttc-coming-soon-a-football-that-powers-c.html
How do you juggle a soccer ball? I have been working on it for a while but my highest is around 19 and thats using mostly my thigh. Usually i drop the ball around 7....how do i get more control when juggling the ball with my feet? How should my ankle be-locked? Where should my toes point? How high should the ball be when i try to hit it?
why are footballers in england judged on their work rate instead of their ability? coming from a family of English desent, I am an avid football (soccer) fan and because my family comes from Manchester way I am a Man City fan, and one thing that strikes me it that in England players are judged purely on their work rate instead of their ability, take Robinho, in Brazil and Spain he is praised endlessly for his ability on the ball, his skills, pace and the beauty of his goals, but when City bought him he was slaughtered because he didnt run around like a headless chicken and only did his work on the ball (where it counts) and he is only 5 foot 7 and 9 stone so what do you expect him to do? do a John Terry who is twice the size of Robinho and throw yourself in front of a bus for the good of the team? Why would an attacking player like Robinho be attacked for not putting in a job in defence? where is the logic? And then you get technically inferior players like Heskey and Rooney who run around aimlessly and they are praised for "giving 100%" even if they dont deliver? No wonder England are doing so badly on the International stage, you look at Spain, the world champions, their 3 best players are Villa, Xavi and Iniesta, do you see them running around aimlessly like Rooney? no you dont because they do their work WITH the ball and focus more on their ability and vision than how they can get booked for running after someone with a red mist surrounding them, that is why teams like Spain, Brazil, Argentina and Germany are so good, because their players focus on their footballing ability to make their team tick, not running around aimlessly by "giving 100% effort for the team".
How can I stay in shape for varsity soccer because of vacations??..? Hey, I am a rising sophomore this year and I am on the verge of making varsity at my school. I have all the skills and speed and stuff because I play on a nationally ranked team in state but my size is a bit of an issue. I am 5'5 where as the rest of the team is along 5'10-6'3ish. Anyways, I wanted to get stronger and faster so those two things could substitute for my lack of size. However, now I am heading out to India for vacation for a month. I am worried that i'll be really rusty when tryouts come because I wouldnt be doing much work with the ball. I am staying at a hotel(pretty nice one) with a full out gym and stuff and then I heard it has a park type thing which is nice and grassy. So question is, how do I stay fit in terms of my current soccer skills and should I weight lift and keep on running a lot to be stronger? Thanks a lot, appreciate it.
Who actually hits the soccer ball the with the laces? I have been playing soccer for a long time now, and i always hit it with the inside of my foot, or if i want distance with my toes, NEVER with the laces. I can control the ball better that way. As long as it works for me, its good. I have tried hitting the ball with the laces, but it feels awkward, and downright wrong. It's YOU ARE, dumbass. You changed it, dude. @tosh It works for me. Highschool Varsity soccer team, my coach also tells my that it's inccorect to kick the ball like that, but he gave up on tellin me, because i would score (on avergae) a goal every single game.
How long should I wait to work out after a concussion? I got a concussion from football on aug 12 and my headaches went away on Sunday until I got hit in the head with a soccer ball and they came back. Tomorrow I think they'll be gone and I have a weight training class and I really need to work out. Would it hurt to work out or should I be fine or if if I get a headache tell the teacher?
What does my dream mean? Two guy's, my cousin, a soccer ball and a tree.? Last night I had this really strange dream. In my dream it was grey and dull, I was talking to my cousin about this guy called Nick (In reality we work with the guy), as we were talking about him, he was a sleep in a room, in my aunty's bed (My cousin's mum in reality) I was asking my cousin if she liked Nick and she told me that she did, in my dream I also liked him, but when she told me she did to, I felt jealous and felt like I had to stop trying to get with him, so I gave up and than out of the blue I became friends with this stranger who was helping me get over Nick, the guy looked like Zero Kiryu from Vampire Knight but he was human and not anime. Than the time seem to shift and I found myself surrounded by cut grass and off in the horizon the sun was setting. I was throwing a soccer ball through branches of a tree (the tree had a really big trunk and the leaves were dying away, like an autumn tree), anyway, I was throwing the ball to the stranger and he back to me, it was game we liked to play, we were laughing, I had never felt so happy, than my laughter stopped as Nick suddenly appeared. The stranger stopped throwing the ball and gave me this sexy grin, than he threw the ball at me, but I didn't throw it back, I was confused, I didn't know who I liked...and yep that's all I can remember, what does this mean?
A soccer ball is kicked with a speed of 9.27 m/s at an angle of 26.0° above the horizontal. If the ball lands? A soccer ball is kicked with a speed of 9.27 m/s at an angle of 26.0° above the horizontal. If the ball lands at the same level from which it was kicked, how long was it in the air? I tried to calculate this myself, but my answer was incorrect. Here is my work: x-direction: Vxi=9.27cos26.0=8.3318 y-direction: Vyi=9.27sin26.0=406.37 yf=yi+Vyi(tf - ti)+ 0.5ay(tf - ti)^2 I thought yf=yi=0 ? Then I thought I would just plug in my numbers for the variables and use the quadratic equation to get time. Where am i going wrong? Thanks in advance!!
How to get really good at soccer? I'm an 8th grade girl, and next year I would really like to try out for the high school soccer team. I'm already a fairly good player, I've played since I was five years old. I can run really fast, but I need to work on ball control, taking shots, etc. Overall, I want to become a better player. I currently play rec. soccer, and I am going to switch teams to a coach who works with the players better next season, and I'm going to try out for a competive team in between seasons. So.. how do I train for high school? Thanks!
Learning to juggle a soccer ball. Help? So I`ve been playing soccer for years but Ive never really worked to hard to try and learn to juggle a soccerball. I`ve heard it helps with ball control for years but Ive only recently discovered this it partially true and that I beleive it. So I go out alot now and try to juggle but I havnt made any progress what so ever. I can get the juggle started from the ground fairly easily but then I sometimes cant even get in one good touch before the ball hits the ground. I`ll usely do one good juggle of maybe 5 or more and then after that one I cant do it again unless I take a break. I feel like maybe I`m hitting the ball to hard or tensing up as I get agitated very easily. Any tips help. Thanks!
Please help with this physics question? a 0.43 kg soccer ball moving at 8 m/s is kicked and flies off in the opposite direction at 12 m/s. If the ball is in contact with the player's foot for 0.01 s, find the average force on the ball. Please show work. Thanks!!
How to juggle a soccer ball? How do you learn how to juggle a soccer ball. I really want to be able to juggle, I keep trying but it doesn't work with me. Can you give me a lesson of the art of juggling.. I'd really appreciate it, also, if there are any Dvds that taught you, could you tell me about it. Thanks! =-)
Soccer Dream tips please? Well I currently play for the Santa Rosa United Soccer Club in Northern California. My dream is to become a young soccer star to play for the National USA team. I mean i know it takes dedication and alot of hard work. But im not like kids from Europe where they go with the soccer ball everywhere. But its like my life to become pro. Thats all I want to do when I grow up. Theres nothing else I want to do. I am the top scorer for my team but I feel like Im not there yet. What are some tips I can get scouted at a young age. Im only 13 turning 14 in January. I want to know every detail, because this my goal, excuse not just a goal, BUT A HUGE FREAKING GOAL.
Why can't I kick with my left instep and my right laces in Soccer? I can kick really hard and far with my laces on my left foot. On my right foot, I can't kick with my laces at all. On my left foot, I cannot kick with the side of my foot at all. On my right foot, I can boot a soccer ball really far with the side of it. My coach told me not to use both feet until I get more experienced, and that I need to work on my left side of my foot and kicking with the laces of my right foot. How can I work on this? Also, is this normal? Thanks
Becoming better a soccer ? I play soccer (center midfielder) and to be honest i'd probably give myself a 7.5/10 rating which isnt to bad but i want to be better. I was a starting 11 player everygame this year on jv as a sophmore. The only reason why i didnt make varisty was because i couldnt run 2 miles in under 12 minutes (because of my knees...I'm going to get them checked out) I played almost the entire game every game of the season. But I want to know what I can do to relax myself with the ball and have better vision. Also, its winter right now where i live and i wanted to know if there's a workout i can do to stay in shape and work on ball skills like in my basement or garage... Thanks in advance for any suggestions/help :)

Any tips on improving soccer skills? I havent played soccer in about 10 years and now I'm playing again for school. Its kinda tough, and a little annoying because most of the people on the team have been playing all throughout school but I haven't so I don't remember all the rules, and my touches aren't too good. I also have trouble knowing what I'm supposed to do for each position. I need work on kicking the ball with my laces too
Help me become a soccer player? I'm 6'2 170 and I want to join the soccer team next year. I have never played but everyday i get comments saying I look like a soccer player from Europe Lol. I want to learn the game. My questions are what position should I play and how can I get better? I'm going to start running 4x a week. Working out with push ups, pull ups and squats. And work on my ball skills at least an hour a day. What else?
Quitting Soccer, and Does Hard work really pay off? I started soccer at the age of 11, and now I'm 15. Ive been struggling on my Premier team who we are ranked 2nd in the State in PA, but here's the thing I worked my rear end off to get where I am today, and still I'm Struggling. I train 6 days a week. On days where I don't have soccer practices, or games I do sprints with the ball, play soccer, and many soccer work-outs because I am thinking of quiting soccer, because I've worked so hard for it and still I have no rewards, I know i started late but i caught up quickly, and These days i see kidz who don't love or play the game as much as me and they are still way better than me, I know i wasn't born with no soccer skills, but my hard work and the love i put into soccer can never pay off, and im struggling and I'm afriad i might get cut from my team and i know i work harder off the fields, but in games I don't do as good as I train, and I'm thinking of quitting. I work hard so I can do good, and so I can try to get a scholarship to a college to play soccer, but no matter how hard i work at it it still doesn't pay off. What should i do?
HELP! need to improve my soccer skills, fast!? i used to be crazy jackie chan, at soccer. but i took about 3 years off, and started again this year. it's the third day into preseason, and its pretty hardcore. the girls team isn't big enough for a JV, so i went straight to varsity. i thought i'd do very well but i've been messing up so much. im natural at some parts, but technically i'm behind. i want to try to catch up a little before the season starts. for the record im only a freshman, but i want to do really well. i need to work on ball handling...(laughs on the inside..) and accuracy. i also really need to work on trapping with other parts of my body. we've done lots of sprints and some distance, so i'm okay with that. i just need as many tips as possible, asap.
Gum paste soccer balls? I'm making cupcakes and I want to put gum paste soccer balls on them. I'm not going to make them completely round, I want to do them a little flat on one side so they sit nicely on top of the icing. I'm making them from white gum paste and then I'm planning on painting the black and lines on with black icing coloring. I haven't ever worked with gum paste so I wanted to know if anyone had any pointers or any ideas to make this easier. Thanks!

How do i become a good soccer player? Ive never played soccer before except when i was little, im Sophomore 5'11 140 pounds and run about 6 to 7 minute mile but i never really have worked at running or practiced with a soccer ball much. Try outs for my school team are in 3 months and i wanna start working at it now so i can be ready when it rolls around. Also id love to know what you'd think about what position i should try out for and what drills i should do to be prepared for what they might have us run at the tryouts. Im currently way outta shape (I haven't really worked out since July) So any FAST ways to get into shape for it are also appreciated. Thanks.
Physics of a ball launcher (Football/Soccer)? Thanks
Which is harder, basketball or soccer? I played soccer for 5 years and got really bored, i was the star member of the school team, i found it very easy to put the plays at work with little thinking, most soccer plays are pretty easy to remember. Yes its harder to control and pass a ball with feet than hands. But ive played basketball (and still playing, i quit soccer) for about 6 years i think. Its so much fun! I personally think its harder than soccer is. The plays are more complex and you always have a hand in your face, or a body shoving you, if you get a fast break and are going to go for the layup, but you have somebody at your side, if you can not get down there fast enough you will be tackled to the ground (Thats how much fast breaks end, in foul shots;p.) With playing both sports, i think that basketball is more of a contact sport. And i think its 10x harder. What do you think? My friend thinks soccer, but he has never played basketball. Most answers have probably only played one or the other sport, not both, and of course they would go with the sport they play as harder, to sound tougher or cooler. But i want more people who have played both to answer. Our school has 2 captains of the basketball team, and im one of them, so i get to be a starter of the game and one of the star players+captain. Also we have 5 members of our team that play both, they all said basketball was harder to them. It just depends on your natural ability. Soccer is a very demanding sport but doesn't require that you be a great athlete. If you are well conditioned they can find a place for you on the soccer field remember not ever player on the field attacks and defends and most players have a singular job. You do run a lot but you are not always running hard, you are not jumping every few seconds you are not in a squat position trying to slide and stay if front of a guy you can't touch. Soccer has a lot of stoppages in play as well, not as long but many more. Also since there is not shot clock teams are not in aggressive attack mode once they have possession of the ball so a lot of time what you get is the equal to a basketball team running a 4 corner spread with a cutter all game on offense and a 2-3 zone on defense. Oh and its harder to get a ball in a small basket, then a ball in a huge net Im not even talking bout baseball? And i bet you two have never played BOTH sports
Physics work/displacement problem? You kick a 2.3kg soccer ball in the air with a force of 50 newtons. If your foot traveled 150 cm when kicking the ball, calculate the work done on the football, the initial speed of the ball (if work equals KE initial) and how high into the air the ball rises. I'm not sure what to do do get the answer, can someone help?
Get Good At Soccer ASAP? i need to start getting good at soccer asap for next season of school soccer. the season starts in 7 months and i need to go from sucking really bad (right now) to being varsity material. i also dont have very good conditioning and i am not fast at all. what i can do is practice 1h a day and maybe more on weekeds. That is all i have time for each day and thats if there is no snow or ice outside my house. during summer i can practice a LOT more but right now for the following 4months its 1h a day. TAKE IN MIND I WILL BE JOGGING/ RUNNING/ SPRINTING OUTSIDE THAT 1H TIMEFRAME so what can i do to get me really good a hour a day? i need specific drills and stuff to do, dont just say work on ball controll but give me a drill or website with drills. so what do i do, what drills, or what to increase everything all around EQUIPMENT: i have the following: Soccer ball Cones Speed Ladder a wooden wall to bounce ball of of and a small space to practice on (not grass) i also got a hill on back of house

why cant i kick a soccer ball right? i kick the ball for a shot like a cross or corner, my foot is bent so it hits the inside of my laces but not the middle, it puts a lot of spin on the ball to the right and doesnt always have the power i need, ive tried to kick the ball with my foot straight so its full on laces but that doesnt work, i feel like it hits the bottom of the laces not the center which is stronger, ive strained muscles in my shins trying to shoot with a straight foot, help please? :D
Help, tips, and general advice for juggling a soccer ball? Hey, i recently got interested in soccer and i'd like to improve my game over the summer, but to start off i'd like to learn how to juggle. I know there are tons of questions on here about this topic, but i just want personal help. About me: I'm about 5'11'', 145 lbs., 16 years old. I'm athletic, but not a star athlete. i can probably run a 6 minute mile right now (untrained), but i'll definitely be working on that. I have a size 5, fairly new ball, so it's pretty full of air. I generally try to practice 30 minutes to an hour a day, but i can't every day. I can stall the ball on my foot (sometimes) and i can do a rainbow kick when the ball is rolling. I probably put too much info... I just need advice on where to aim for the on the ball and how hard to kick it. Also what part of my foot is easiest to keep it up with, etc. My best is around 15-20 hits, but that's kicking it all over and i'd like to keep it controlled in front of me. Again thanks for any advice.
I got hit in the face wih a soccer ball and my braces cut my mouth..... Please read for more info.? Ok so on Saturday at my soccer game I got hit smack in the face with the soccer ball and my braces cut the whole inside of my mouth and it HURTS!! I put some dental wax on my braves so it wouldn't snag as mug but it still hurts and I can't eat anything and it sucks! Please help me oh and I'm a 12 year old girl if that helps. I've also tried orajel. It kinda works. Please help how can I help this heal and ease the pain??
why cant this girl stay away from my down under? so i hang out with this girl sometimes. we made out before. im pretty sure she likes me. she just doesnt "trust" anyone. when we hang out we have a great time. but every time we hang out. she always hits me in my "down there" area. once with the back hand, like a ball tap. and then with a ball at work. and multiple times with a soccer ball. so if shes always aiming for that zone with objects...why doesnt she make a move already? she knows i like her and want to date her.
Is my gym routine getting me ready for soccer? I want to tryout for my college soccer team next year and I have the ball skills and the speed, but the biggest problem for me was always the endurance I was never able to run for the full 90 minutes. I've been going to the gym for at least 1-2 hours a day for the past couple of months and I was just wondering if my gym routine is getting me ready for college soccer. I always had my upper body/core and lower body on separate days and I always take one day off for rest, but I would run everyday at least 3-4 miles . My upper body/core exercises consist of (I alternate every week with light and heavy lifting): Bench/Incline press 4 X 10 (140 lbs) / 3 X 5 (160 lbs) (Incline weights alittle lower) Military press 4 X 10 (75 lbs) / 3 X 5 (80 lbs) Curls 3 X 10 (60 lbs) / 3 X 5 (70 lbs) Reverse Curls 3 X 5 (70 lbs) Dips 3 X to failure Push ups 3 X 30 500 sit ups Roman chair 3 X 20 Lower Body: Squats 3 X 10 140lbs / 3 X 5 170 lbs Leg Press 3 X 10 180lbs / 3 X 5 200lbs Leg Curls standing calf raises To work on my endurance I always run before lifting weights, but I alternate on the types of runs I do such as: Run for 45 minutes at a 9 minute mile pace Run my first mile to warm up then run the next 2-3 miles by switching from jogging to sprinting every quarter mile Run for 30 minutes at a 8 minute mile pace and I try to end every workout with riding the stationary bike for 25 minutes at a challenging setting then some stretching Im also in this indoor soccer league so I get plenty of time to work on my ball control and passing So is this enough to get me ready for soccer tryouts, if not what else should I do to be completely ready for the running that comes with soccer?
Please Help! A soccer ball is kicked with an initial speed of 45 m/s at an angle of at an angle of 30? Any good soccer exercises to practice with just a ball in your living room? I just joined a new select team and we have practice two days a week. I've been working really hard to improve my game during practice and I am already one of the best players on the team but I just wanna know some exercises that I can do at home to keep consistently getting better. I play right mid or right wing back if it matters. Thanks!
Good ways to practice soccer without defenders? I am training for an Academy team. Tryouts are next march, and I need to work on ball control around defenders. I am finished with high school soccer, so how do I practice to get better with dealing with defense.
